Volunteer: External Relations Committee

Goals

To increase the awareness of the CFA Charter and the Society.To actively identify B2B opportunities, engage, and refer strong leads to the Society for potential organizational partnerships.Assist in increasing non-membership revenues via sponsorship and advertising opportunities with the Society and its marketing opportunities.Work in collaboration with Society and other stakeholders to build and maintain strong and active relationships, activity levels and connectivity with external groups, such as but not limited to employers, other associations and the community at large.Liaise with CFA Societies Canada and the Society’s management in complementing their work and sharing local Society issues and advances within regulation impacting membership.

Duties & Responsibilities

Attend and participate in bi-monthly meetings, sub-committee meetings and any ad hoc committee meetings as required.Encourage membership in the Society using B2B engagement.Work with other committee members and CFA Society Toronto staff to define a stakeholder map for the External Relations Committee and associated target groups.Work in collaboration with CFA Society staff and other stakeholders to maintain, build, and grow strong and active relationships with external organizations and groups, including but not limited to employers, other professional organizations, and our local CFA Society Toronto and investment community.

Time Commitment

Average 15-20 hours annually.Bi-monthly meetings - virtual format with a quarterly in-person meeting.

Requirements

Be a current CFA Society Toronto member in good standing.Be committed to supporting the Society's growth and influence in the industry.Must have excellent outreach, engagement, relationship management skills and experience.Mid-senior level role, with existing network an asset.Willingness to reach out to personal and professional network.Public speaking and presentation skills.Sales background in a B2B environment an asset.Comfortable/willingness to conduct outreach/cold calls.Must not have a current leadership role in another professional organization.Strong communicator and facilitator.Excellent organizational skills.Proven strategic leadership skills.
